Festival in the Park returns for 25th year

March 29,2024

Festival in the Park, the largest free community event in Enterprise, returns Saturday, May 4 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Johnny Henderson Family Park.

“This event started back in 1999 and has grown and evolved over the years into something that has become a signature event in our community,” Billy Powell, Director of Community Services and Recreation, said. “This festival is a way for us to not only thank our community for their support of Enterprise Parks and Recreation, but to provide a family-friendly event at no cost to our citizens.”

The festival will include pony rides, a petting zoo, train rides, arts and crafts, face painting, inflatables and more. Powell said more than 10,000 people attended the event in 2023.

Country/Rock artist Brandon Jordan will take the stage at 5 p.m. Since making his debut in 2021, Jordan has performed at more than 400 live shows across the southeast. He has released a series of singles, including hit single, “Drown Her Memory,” and has racked up more than 40,000 streams across multiple online platforms. Jordan has previously performed with several acts, including ‘Sweet Tea Trio’ who headlined Enterprise’s inaugural Sweet Tea Festival last August.

“We encourage everyone to come out to Festival in the Park and make an afternoon out of it,” Enterprise Parks and Recreation Program Coordinator Krista Hooper said. “There will be activities that appeal to all ages and families. We want everyone to bring their lawn chairs and blankets, grab a bite to eat from one of the food trucks, and enjoy the live music.”

Hooper said the event will conclude with a memorable fireworks display, thanks in part to the local businesses who help sponsor the event.

“We are able to provide this event free of charge thanks to the support of our generous sponsors: McDonald’s- Murphy Family Restaurants, Park Loan Team- Movement Mortgage, Beacon of Hope ABA, Southeast Gas, Enterprise Granite, and Space Walk of Enterprise.”

Vendor opportunities are still available.  For more information, contact Krista Hooper at (334) 348-2682 or email khooper@enterpriseal.gov
