Senior Center
- Meet and pursue mutual interests,
- Receive educational and nutritional services,
- Participate in social and recreational activities that will enhance their lives, and
- Support and maintain their independence and encourage their continued involvement in and with the community.
Congregate Meals
The Enterprise Senior Center provides meals to an eligible client at the Enterprise Senior Center. The meals comply with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. The meal recipient must meet the eligibility of the congregate meals program.
Home Delivered Meals
The Enterprise Senior Center provides meals to an eligible client at the client’s place of residence. The meals comply with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. The meal will be delivered by the Enterprise Senior Center driver (within city limits only). The meal recipient must meet the eligibility of the home-delivered meals program.
Nutrition Education
The Enterprise Senior Center provides accurate and culturally sensitive nutrition, physical fitness, or nutrition-related health information and instruction to clients of the center or their caregivers to promote better health.
Recreation
The ESC provides a wide variety of activities like the following:
- Use of exercise equipment
- Games, Board Games & Cards
- Craft projects
- Social functions within the center
- Dinners to local and out-of-town restaurants
- Local and out-of-town trips
Every Monday and Wednesday: Sewing Classes
Every Tuesday: Art - Taught by a professional teacher (Members furnish art supplies)
Outreach
Interventions initiated by an agency or organization for the purpose of identifying potential clients (or their caregivers) and encouraging their use of existing services and benefits.
Outreach may include:
- Speaking individually with seniors during a local health fair
- Contacting new residents to describe the nutrition center’s activities
If you are unable to drive or do not have transportation, and you live within city limits the ESC driver will pick you up from home, bring you to the center and return you home after lunch.
