A portion of West College Street in Downtown Enterprise will remain closed this weekend to allow the contractor ample time to clean up the surrounding area.
West College Street, from Main Street to the railroad tracks, will remain blocked by barricades.
“Safety of our residents and visitors to downtown Enterprise is our top priority,” Enterprise Fire Department Chief Christopher Davis said. “The barricades are put in place to keep people a safe distance from the construction site and should not be moved or crossed.”
Pedestrians are reminded to use the sidewalks and to only cross Main Street in designated crosswalks. Businesses in the area remain open.
West College Street closed Jan. 9 as crews began to demolish buildings damaged by fire in October. The road is expected to reopen Monday morning.
