Perry Vickers is in his first year as a councilman representing District 3, having been elected in August 2016.
A 1965 graduate of Enterprise High School, Councilman Vickers has a Bachelor's degree in History Education, and a certification in Guidance and Counseling, a Master's Degree in School Administration and Supervision, and an AA (ED.S) in School Administration and Supervision, all from Troy University.
Councilman Vickers is a retired teacher, school administrator, and minister. He was employed in the Enterprise City School System for 38 years. During those years he served as a history teacher, guidance counselor, coach, assistant principal and principal. He was an assistant principal at Enterprise High School for five years and principal of Dauphin Junior High School for 18 years.
After serving 18 years in the active ministry, he is now retired from the United Methodist Church.
Councilman Vickers says he is happy to be serving the people of District 3 and throughout the City of Enterprise. Among his priorities is transparency in government operation.
"Transparency should not be as the council feels it needs to be, but how the citizens want it to be," he says.
